ILOILO City Government provided five new vehicles for senior citizens, Quick Response Team (QRT) and City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO).

According to Mayor Jose Espinosa III in an interview on October 8, these vehicles will enhance the capability of the aforementioned sectors.

Out of the five vehicles, three were ambulances for the senior citizens and district hospitals and two were additional patrol cars for the QRT.

Previously, the city government has turned over a patrol car for the local police and QRT and 30-seater bus to be used for the visitors in the city.

In connection, Espinosa promised to give special ambulance for the senior citizens. It will also cater the elderlies who want to have check-ups and consultation.

“This is the first time that senior citizens have a specific ambulance to be used when in need,” Espinosa said.

Senior citizens can avail the transportation service by coordinating with the CDRRMO through emergency medical services hotline at 335-1554 & 333-3333 and Office line at 323-4973.

Espinosa said that they will establish a radio network to compliment with CDRRMO’s communication.

The ambulance will serve 24/7 with specific trained personnel for Geriatric Care Management which is specialized only for senior citizens.
