THE Iloilo City Government has asked the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) to place the city under general community quarantine (GCQ) but with strict observance to health protocols in place.

“We appeal for GCQ but with heightened health protocols. The reason is for businesses to slowly start to recover but still following safety standards. We need to always wear mask properly, wash hands, sanitize with alcohol, maintain one-meter distance, disinfect and open windows for ventilation,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said.

He said the request was sent to the IATF Tuesday, June 29.

He said the Average Daily Attack Rate (Adar) in Iloilo City has been reduced to 18 from 24.

Trenas, however, reiterated to the public not to be complacent because hospital capacity is still high, considering that the facilities in the metropolis also cater to patients from provinces in Panay Island. (PR)
