THE Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC) Molo Campus is offering free computer literacy training to residents who want to develop their digital skills needed to be competitive in the workforce.

Interested applicants should submit original copy of barangay certificate of residency; photocopy of voter's certificate; photocopy of birth certificate; photocopy of vaccination card; two pieces 1x1 ID picture, two brown envelopes; and pay a registration fee of P150.

The program is scheduled Monday to Friday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at TIIC Computer Laboratory, MH del Pilar Street, Molo, and instructed by trainer Ronnie Boy Albor.

The computer literacy training provides an opportunity for out-of-school youths (OSYs), unemployed, first-time job seekers, and displaced workers to enhance their skills in online learning as well as engage in cyber communities such as Google Apps, Zoom, and other applications that align with employment and career pathways.

"Since we have seen the emergence of computer technology, the TIIC Molo Campus offers this program to our fellow Ilonggos to be knowledgeable in terms of operating computers, assembling and disassembling computer parts, navigating the internet, and using software applications that are helpful for them," TIIC Molo Institution Representative Kurt Arthur Nietes said.

"TIIC Molo never fails to give quality and free livelihood and skills training through the competency-based programs or Technical-Vocational and Education Trainings. We are encouraging everyone to apply for these courses as it will not only give you opportunities for future employment but to gain a lifetime skill and knowledge that will help you to be more empowered, economically developed, and resilient," Nietes added.

The City Government purchased 25 computer units and installed 50mbps of Internet connection in 2021 to level up the trainings. (PR)
