Ioilo City launches computer literacy, repair program to empower citizens

THE Iloilo City Government has recently launched a program aimed at enhancing residents' digital literacy, empowering them with crucial computer skills.

Applications for the Basic Computer Literacy and Repair Program are currently being accepted.

The program is in collaboration with the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the Iloilo City Council for the Protection of Children (ICCPC), and the Technical Institute of Iloilo City-Molo Campus.

Eligible candidates who have received approval from the CSWDO District Unit Office may submit their applications at the ICCPC Office starting June 12, 2023.

The program aims to offer participants an opportunity to enhance their computer repair and literacy skills, equipping them with the necessary tools to navigate the digital world effectively.

To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

* Barangay Certificate of Residency.

* Birth Certificate.

* 2 x 2 I.D. Picture.

* Endorsement from CSWDO District Unit Office.

* Must be between 18 and 24 years old, unemployed, out-of-school youth, college undergraduate, or youth with disabilities.

Those who are interested in the program are urged to go to their local District CSWDO Unit Offices.

By bridging the digital gap and giving its residents the resources they need to flourish in the contemporary world, Iloilo City hopes to empower its people via the cooperation of governmental organizations and educational institutions. (SunStar Philippines)
