THE Iloilo City Public Safety and Transportation Office (PSTMO) is intensifying the deployment of its personnel along Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. Avenue or Diversion Road in Mandurriao district to ensure the safety of commuters and general public.
“We are in the process of planning how many personnel will be deployed along the area of Esplanade or along Diversion Road. The plan also is to increase deployment of personnel in some other streets in Iloilo City, but the main focus is along Diversion Road since there are people who take a walk or jog every morning and in the afternoon at Esplanade,” said PSTMO head Jeck Conlu.
PSTMO personnel will be deployed starting 5 a.m. until 9 p.m.
“Our personnel will be the ones to assist the public in crossing the road and will make sure that they are using the pedestrian lane,” he said.
Conlu hoped this will lessen accidents in one of the busiest roads in the metropolis especially during rush hours. (PR)
