THE Land Transportation Office in Western Visayas (LTO 6) has intensified its on-the-ground operations to distribute unclaimed motorcycle plates through its “Oplan: Stop, Plate and Go” campaign on August 4, 2025.

Teams from the LTO Regional Law Enforcement Section 6 (RLES), led by Chief Relin Reyes, conducted simultaneous checkpoint operations at Jaro District Plaza and other key roads in Iloilo City.

The campaign was carried out under the direct supervision of LTO 6 Director Gaudioso Geduspan II and Assistant Regional Director Jeck Conlu.

“Instead of a citation or temporary operator’s permit, motorists are happily receiving their plates on the spot,” said Conlu, who personally joined RLES officers in the field.

For motorcycle owners whose plates were not immediately available, LTO personnel provided assistance by tracking the plates in real-time through their digital system.

As of August 3, LTO 6 has released over 27,000 motorcycle plates in Western Visayas.

The intensified rollout is part of the nationwide campaign to address the backlog of unclaimed motorcycle plates and is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to resolve long-standing delays.

It also supports Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon’s objective to eliminate the 11-year plate backlog across the country. (Leo Solinap)
