THE Land Transportation Office in Western Visayas (LTO 6) concluded its Regional Monthly Conference on August 5, 2025, with a renewed focus on plate distribution, infrastructure development, and road safety.

The meeting, held at the LTO Regional Office in Iloilo City, brought together district office chiefs and extension office heads to assess operational performance and set new directives for the region.

The conference was led by LTO Barotac Viejo District Office Chief Ma. Bernadette “Bing” Batilaran, under the guidance of LTO 6 Regional Director Gaudioso Geduspan II and Assistant Regional Director Jeck Conlu.

Geduspan urged all district and extension offices to ramp up their efforts in the national “Oplan: Stop, Plate and Go” campaign, which deploys mobile enforcement units stocked with motorcycle plates for immediate distribution.

He announced that the LTO is working to eliminate the backlog of unissued plates, under the leadership of LTO Chief and Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II and Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, with the aim of directly delivering services to the people.

As of August 4, 2025, more than 27,000 motorcycle plates have been distributed by LTO 6 across Western Visayas. The regional office is intensifying coordination among district offices to speed up the issuance process and expand the reach of its mobile units.

In addition to addressing the license plate backlog, office heads presented proposals for infrastructure improvements, acquisition of mobile service units, and expanded community outreach programs. The conference also reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to road safety, support for traffic enforcers, and sustainable practices in field operations.

“As public servants, our goal is to make our services faster, more accessible, and more responsive to the needs of the riding public,” said Conlu. “We will continue to improve our performance through innovation and teamwork.”

“Oplan: Stop, Plate and Go” supports the national goal of resolving an 11-year plate distribution delay while promoting on-the-ground engagement and digital tracking through the LTO’s centralized system. (Leo Solinap)
