
AUTHORITIES arrested a regional-level most wanted person for murder in a coordinated police operation in Barangay Fulgencio, Balete, Aklan at 4:02 a.m. on July 1, 2025.
The suspect, identified only as alias Marmar, 39, single, and a resident of the said barangay, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 1 in Kalibo, Aklan, dated June 25, 2025.
The court recommended no bail for the suspect.
The arrest was carried out by personnel of the Balete Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit in Western Visayas, Aklan Police Provincial OfficeTracker Team, Maritime Police Station Aklan , Provincial Intelligence Team Aklan, Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas, and the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The accused is currently in police custody and will be turned over to the court for appropriate legal proceedings.
Police Brigadier General Josefineo Ligan, acting regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, commended the operating units for the successful arrest.
“The successful arrest of a regional-level most wanted person is a testament to the relentless efforts of our personnel in pursuing justice and protecting our communities,” Ligan said in a statement.
