THE Pototan Municipal Police Station arrested the most wanted person in Pototan, Iloilo, for murder in Barangay Masanag, Hamtic, Antique around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Police Colonel Roland Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo), confirmed the arrest and commended the Pototan police.
"This achievement proves the Ippo's dedication to catching criminals and safeguarding Iloilo," he said.
Bulalacao expressed gratitude for the strong partnership with the community, which he said is crucial in preventing those who hinder the peace and progress of Iloilo.
The suspect, known only by the alias John, 25, is a resident of Barangay Cau-ayan, Pototan, Iloilo. He was arrested by virtue of a warrant for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 68, 6th Judicial Region in Dumangas, Iloilo, on February 7, 2025. No bail was recommended.
John has been accused of fatally stabbing a victim in May 2024 in Pototan, Iloilo.
Police received credible information from concerned citizens indicating he was hiding in Barangay Masanag, Hamtic, Antique.
The Pototan police’s tracker team, led by Police Captain Jersey Besas, successfully captured John, who is now in the custody of the police station for proper disposition and legal action. (Leo Solinap)
