

A HIGH-VALUE individual (HVI) was arrested and 65 grams of suspected shabu worth P455,000 were confiscated during a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Poblacion 2, Hamtic, Antique, at around 4:24 a.m. on July 19, 2025.
The suspect, identified as alias Nene, 35, single, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Malandog, Hamtic, Antique, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation led by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Antique Police Provincial Office (PDEU-Antppo), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Antique Provincial Office, and the Hamtic Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Confiscated from the suspect were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other non-drug-related evidence.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Hamtic MPS and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the coordinated efforts of the operating units.
“This arrest serves as a testament to our intensified campaign against illegal drugs across Western Visayas.
