
THE Philippine Army's 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division marked its 51st anniversary on May 30, 2025, at Camp General Macario Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz.
Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido, the Philippine Army's Commanding General, was the guest of honor.
Galido lauded the 3ID for its service in Western and Central Visayas and Negros Island, highlighting the Army's dedication to building a Bagong Pilipinas.
The celebration, themed “3ID @ 51: Matatag na Kaagapay ng mga Mamamayan sa Kanluran, Gitnang Visayas at Negros Island para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” recognized the division’s work in internal security and nation-building.
Major General Michael Samson commands the 3ID, which is based in Jamindan, Capiz. The division manages military operations in Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Negros Island. Its focus includes neutralizing communist terrorist groups and supporting development in remote areas.
Army officers, local officials, and civilian stakeholders attended the anniversary event. Awards were presented to military personnel, units, and civilian partners for their outstanding service.
