Pilar’s 5th most wanted nabbed in Antique for sexual assault

A 55-YEAR-OLD laborer listed as the fifth most wanted person (MWP) in Pilar, Bataan was arrested for sexual assault in Barangay Linaban, Hamtic, Antique around 12:54 p.m. on August 6, 2025.

The suspect, identified only as alias Ferdie, a resident of Pilar, Bataan, was temporarily staying with his partner in Hamtic, Antique when police authorities served the warrant of arrest.

Operatives of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with Pilar MPS under the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO), carried out the arrest by virtue of a warrant issued by a court in Balanga City, Bataan dated August 4, 2025. Bail was set at P200,000.

The suspect is now in the custody of Hamtic MPS and will be turned over to the court that issued the arrest warrant for proper disposition.

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), lauded the arresting units for their coordinated efforts in apprehending a wanted person from another region.

“The successful arrest of a most wanted person from another region is a clear message that no criminal can escape the long arm of the law. Sooner or later, justice will catch up with them, wherever they may try to hide," Ligan said. (Leo Solinap/SunStr Philippines)
