POLICE Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, newly installed director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), made his first courtesy call to Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Ligan brought up key initiatives, including the Philippine National Police’s 911 hotline and the five-minute response policy, during the meeting with the mayor on Monday.

He praised the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo), led by Police Colonel Kim Legada, for their quick response during a recent simulation exercise and encouraged Treñas-Chu to witness a live demonstration of their rapid response next week.

The mayor assured Ligan of full support, particularly to the Icpo, as well as for peace and order initiatives.

The courtesy call marked Ligan’s official engagement with local government leaders in Iloilo City following his assumption as head of PRO 6. (Leo Solinap)
