THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) concluded the month-long 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration with a Culminating Ceremony held at the PRO 6 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp General Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City on July 31, 2025.
Anchored on the theme, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka!”, the ceremony highlighted the recognition of outstanding PRO 6 personnel, units, and stakeholders whose efforts significantly strengthened police-community relations, enhanced public trust, and promoted safety across Western Visayas.
Director Raul E. Fernandez, regional director of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Western Visayas, served as the guest of honor and speaker. In his message, he praised the dedication of PRO 6 in promoting meaningful community involvement and emphasized the role of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring peace, security, and disaster resilience.
“Ang temang, ‘Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka’, ay hindi isang pahayag, ito ay isang panawagan. Tayo po ay hindi nagkakalayo ng mga adbokasiya, kami po sa Office of the Civil Defense 6, ito din po ang aming gusto. Ang lahat po ng ating mga kasimanwa ay ligtas po,” said Fernandez.
(The theme, ‘In the New Philippines, the Police Want You to Be Safe,’ is not a statement, it is a call. We do not shy away from advocacy, we at the Office of the Civil Defense 6, this is also what we want. All our fellow citizens are safe.)
