THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) arrested 509 individuals during its month-long operations against illegal activities across the region in April 2025. The arrests stemmed from 431 police operations conducted by various police units.
Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the PRO 6, praised the efforts of all police offices in the region, citing their intensified campaign against criminality.
“Your accomplishments are commendable. These speak of your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment toward your sworn duty. As the election day is nearing, I urge you to keep pursuing the remaining lawless elements in your area to keep the electoral process safe, secure, peaceful, and orderly,” Wanky said.
The operations resulted in the arrest of 164 individuals for illegal drugs, 68 for illegal gambling, 233 wanted persons, and 44 for possession of loose firearms. In addition, 122 assorted firearms were surrendered or deposited across various police units in the region.
Wanky urged the public to support the police by being vigilant and reporting suspicious activities in their communities. He aimed for the May 12, 2025 National and Local Elections in Western Visayas to allow free and safe voting at designated polling centers.
