AN ANTI-NARCOTICS operation by the Bacolod City Police Office-Drug Enforcement Unit (BCPO-DEU) led to the seizure of 150 grams of shabu valued at P1,020,000 and the arrest of three suspects in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3, Bacolod City.

The arrest happened at 10:29 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2025.

The suspects were identified as alias Jason, 30, classified as a high-value individual (HVI); and alias Charles, 29, and alias John, 30, both tagged as street-level individuals (SLI). All are residents of the area.

Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) Director Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the BCPO for its aggressive stance against illegal drugs in the city.

"Your intensified campaign against illegal drugs is commendable, and the community truly feels the result of your effort in their respective places," he said.

Wanky emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with stakeholders and maintaining the intensity of law enforcement operations to protect cleared communities.

During a weeklong anti-drug campaign from February 10 to 16, the BCPO conducted 11 police operations, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals and the confiscation of shabu worth P1.38 million. Of those arrested, two were considered HVIs, while 11 were classified as SLIs.

The three suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Antique, a high-value drug suspect was arrested following the implementation of two search warrants by the Sibalom Municipal Police Station (MPS), resulting in the confiscation of approximately 90 grams of shabu worth P612,000 and a homemade shotgun with ammunition.

The operation took place at 11:05 a.m. on February 15, 2025 in Purok 1, Salvacion, Sibalom, Antique.

The suspect, identified as alias Ed, 56, a married farmer, is a resident of the area and was classified as a high-value individual (HVI).

Wanky also praised the Antique Police Provincial Office (Anppo) and supporting agencies for their dedication to the anti-illegal drug and loose firearms campaign.

"Congratulations to all units involved in this operation. This is not an ordinary operation because the operatives applied for and implemented two search warrants," he said.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Anppo Intelligence Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Antique Office.

The suspect is now in police custody and will face charges for violating RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act of 2013.

In Iloilo, an anti-illegal drug operation by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Drug Enforcement Unit (Ippo-DEU) led to the confiscation of 115 grams of shabu valued at P782,000 in Barangay Abaca, San Enrique, Iloilo around 5:03 p.m. of February 15, 2025.

The suspect, identified as alias Nel, 42, a fruit vendor from Poblacion Ilaud, Passi City, was classified as an HVI.

The suspect, in police custody, is set to be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in collaboration with the San Enrique Municipal Police Station. (Leo Solinap)
