AROUND 30 grams of substance believed to be shabu worth P204,000 were seized during an anti-drug operation conducted by the Pototan Municipal Police Station in Barangay Zarrague, Pototan, Iloilo at 6:44 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operation, saying: “This accomplishment reflects the dedication and unwavering commitment of our personnel, as well as the strength of our collaborative efforts with the community in the fight against illegal drugs.”
Ligan assured that the partnership will continue to strengthen as they work tirelessly to protect communities from the dangers of illegal substances.
The suspect, identified as alias Dan, 34, a resident of Barangay Zarrague and tagged as a street-level individual, is currently under police custody.
Authorities recovered seven plastic sachets containing the illegal substance during the operation.
The suspect will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap)
