

SEVEN drug suspects, including three high-value individuals (HVIs) and four street-level individuals (SVIs), were arrested in five anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) within 24 hours on August 13, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, commended the units involved and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to the anti-drug campaign.
“This accomplishment shows the dedication of our police officers in safeguarding our communities from the scourge of illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our operations until every Barangay in the region becomes drug-free,” Ligan said.
Police seized 61 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 259 grams, valued at P1,761,200, and nine sachets of suspected marijuana weighing about four grams, worth P480.
The Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo), through its City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) with support from Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 2 and the Icpo Swat Team, arrested alias Sazkie, 32, single, a security guard of VG Security Agency, and a resident of Carles, Iloilo, temporarily residing in Barangay Baldoza, La Paz District, Iloilo City.
Tagged as an HVI, he was found in possession of about 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000.
In another buy-bust operation, the Icpo-CDEU apprehended two HVIs identified as alias Leon, 53, an e-bike driver, and alias Ran-Ran, 49, a construction worker, both residents of La Paz District, Iloilo City. Confiscated from them were about 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000.
