THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) was named Best City Police Office, with Police Colonel Kim Legada, city director, accepting the award.
The recognition cited ICPO’s consistent commitment to law enforcement excellence, public safety, and community service.
Barangay Semirara in Caluya, Antique, was awarded Best Barangay for Peace and Order Initiatives for maintaining a strong and sustainable peace and order program through grassroots efforts.
Barangay Chairperson Catherine Lim-Tahum received the award on behalf of the community.
Iloilo City was recognized as the Best Highly Urbanized Independent City for its strong partnership with the PNP in maintaining peace and security.
The city has supported the police force by upgrading facilities and providing modern equipment for more efficient and safe law enforcement operations.
The award was received by former Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, who now serves as special adviser to the city government.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, said the honors reflect the collaboration between the police, local government units, barangays, and the community.
“These recognitions inspire us to continue serving with honor, justice, and integrity. Let us always remember that when we work together, success follows. Let’s continue to make PRO 6 the KasaLIGAN, Kaapin, at Kaagapay of Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
