POLICE Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) showcased its enhanced 5-minute police response capability through a simulation exercise in Boracay and Iloilo City on August 6, 2025.
The activity coincided with the courtesy visit of John “Jack” Raymond Teves Jr., mayor of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, at Camp General Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
Teves was received by Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the PRO 6, along with members of the regional staff.
The simulation demonstrated the operational readiness of PRO 6 under the “5 Minute Response Time” directive of Philippine National Police Chief General Nicolas Torre III.
Ligan said the activity was “a meaningful opportunity to showcase PRO 6’s readiness” through the effective use of advanced law enforcement tools.
The exercise featured radio communication systems, the 911 emergency hotline, CCTV surveillance networks, body-worn cameras, and mobile digital video recorders.
These technologies worked in synergy to simulate fast, intelligent, and coordinated police response to emergency scenarios in both highly urbanized areas.
Ligan said modern technology improves police operations, enabling faster, smarter, and more coordinated responses to emergencies for community safety and security.
The initiative also aims to boost community trust, reinforce peace and order, and demonstrate PRO 6’s proactive approach in meeting the demands of a safer and more responsive policing environment in Western Visayas. (Leo Solinap)
