THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) recognized outstanding personnel and tested its 5-minute response readiness during flag-raising and awarding ceremonies around 8 a.m. July 7, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, acting regional director of PRO 6, led the event with Prosecutor II Flosemer Chris Gonzales, chairperson of the Legal Cooperation Cluster in Western Visayas and the Justice Sector Legal Assistance Team (JFLAT) of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-Elcac 6) in Western Visayas, as guest of honor and speaker.

In his message, Gonzales congratulated the recipients and called for continued unity among law enforcement and civilian stakeholders.

“It is my prayer and my fervent hope that we will continue to work together until every last NPA member and their supporters are neutralized and Western Visayas shall have attained a just and lasting peace,” Gonzales said.

He also reminded PRO 6 personnel to remain steadfast in their mission to serve the public with integrity and discipline.

Another highlight of the event was a live simulation exercise that tested the 5-minute response protocol aligned with the core pillars of Police General Nicolas Torre III, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Ligan personally observed the readiness of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) and the Malay Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the Aklan Police Provincial Office (Akppo). Both units successfully executed their simulated response in under five minutes, demonstrating operational preparedness and a strong commitment to public safety—particularly in the key tourism hub of Boracay Island.
