THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) conducted a surprise drug test on its top officers at Madia-as Hall, Camp General Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City, as part of its drive to reinforce integrity and professionalism within its ranks on June 27, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, PRO 6 director, said, “This initiative reinforces our commitment to upholding the highest standards of discipline and integrity within the ranks. It reflects our strong support for the chief, PNP’s leadership core pillar of accountability and modernization.”

Around 50 police officials from PRO 6 were subjected to mandatory drug testing, marking the first surprise drug test ordered by Ligan since June 21, 2025.

The activity is part of a campaign to reinforce discipline, professionalism, and integrity among police personnel in the region.

The unannounced drug testing covered the Command Group, Regional Staff and Deputies, provincial and city directors, the force commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Western Visayas, as well as regional chiefs of the National Support Units, including the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit in Western Visayas, and the Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas.

The activity reflects the office’s firm stance on building a drug-free police organization by beginning at the leadership level. (Leo Solinap)
