PRO 6 nets 12 drug suspects, seizes P1.4M 'shabu' in 24-hour operations

THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) intensified its anti-drug campaign across the region, arresting 12 suspects and seizing over P1.4 million worth of shabu in a 24-hour span from 6 a.m. of August 5 to 6 a.m. of August 6, 2025.

A total of nine anti-drug operations were conducted during the period, resulting in the apprehension of three high-value individuals (HVIs) and nine street-level individuals (SLIs).

The police also confiscated 75 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 210 grams, with a total standard drug price of P1,428,000.

One of the major operations took place at 3:27 p.m. on August 5, 2025, in Zone 3, Barangay Calumpang, Molo District, Iloilo City.

A high-value target, alias Bebe, 28, jobless, was arrested by the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in coordination with Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 4’s Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET).

The buy-bust operation led to the recovery of 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at P816,000, along with 26 sachets, a knot-tied plastic bag of the same substance, buy-bust money, and various non-drug items.

In a separate operation, another HVI, alias Marmar, was arrested in Leganes, Iloilo. The Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS) operatives confiscated approximately 51 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 and seized one firearm.

All arrested suspects are currently in police custody for the filing of appropriate charges.

“These accomplishments reflect our sustained and resolute efforts in eradicating illegal drugs across Western Visayas. I commend our operating units for their dedication and professionalism in conducting these operations,” he said.

Ligan urged for continued collaboration with communities and stakeholders to establish a safer, drug-free region for future generations.

The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking organizations in Western Visayas provinces and cities.

The regional police leadership emphasizes the capability of law enforcement agencies to conduct sustained operations targeting different levels of drug trafficking networks simultaneously.

All arrested suspects are currently in police custody for charges related to violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operations reflect coordinated intelligence gathering and operational planning designed to maximize the effectiveness of anti-drug enforcement efforts across Western Visayas.
