
THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) arrested 301 suspects and confiscated a combined P59.42 million worth of illegal drugs in 242 operations across the region in March 2025.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, praised the efforts of all operating units.
“These figures reflect your dedication to our campaign to eliminate the threat of illegal drugs in every community. Continue fostering strong relationships with the community and enhancing our collaboration and coordination with the different government agencies and stakeholders,” he said.
Wanky said that with their support, “we can identify those who engaged in illegal activities and hold them accountable for their actions.”
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas, along with other provincial and city police offices under PRO 6, seized around 8,681 grams of shabu valued at P59 million and 3,161 grams of marijuana worth P379,360.
Among the units involved, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) recorded the highest value of confiscated illegal drugs with P25.6 million.
The Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) followed with P17.8 million, and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with P7.89 million worth of seized drugs.
In terms of arrests, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) had the highest number with 105 suspects, accounting for 34.9 percent of the total.
This was followed by the Icpo with 69 arrests and the BCPO with 50.
The other provincial offices also made notable contributions:
Aklan Police Provincial Office (Akppo): 8 arrests
Antique Police Provincial Office (Antppo): 6 arrests
Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO): 10 arrests
Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO): 4 arrests
All the arrested suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap)
