SIX individuals wanted for illegal cockfighting were arrested in Barangay Zone 1, Tubungan, Iloilo, on June 8, 2025, at 10:10 p.m. through a warrant issued for violation of Presidential Decree 1602.
Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the Tubungan Municipal Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) operatives for the successful operation.
"These arrests show our sincere and aggressive commitment of pursuing after the remaining wanted persons in the region," Wanky stated.
The accused are currently in police custody and will be transferred to the court of jurisdiction. Bail for each suspect was set at P30,000. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
