

POLICE Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized substance believed to be shabu worth more than P1 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Gogo, Estancia, Iloilo, at around 5:19 a.m. on August 10, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, commended the operating units for their precision and commitment.
“This latest success in Estancia is proof that our intensified operations are working and that no place is safe for drug traffickers in Western Visayas. We will sustain this momentum, track down every player in the drug trade, and ensure they face the full force of the law," he said.
Ligan commended the operatives for their courage, precision, and unwavering dedication in protecting communities from the threat of illegal drugs.
Police identified the suspect as alias Jen, 36, a resident of Barangay Gogo. He was arrested by operatives of Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Team 3 following a coordinated anti-drug operation.
Authorities recovered about 155.04 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,054,272, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug items.
The suspect is detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
