
TRIBU Paghidaet of La Paz National High School proudly represented Iloilo City and the Philippines during the Philippine National Day parade at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The group performed a dynamic and culturally rich showcase of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival, drawing loud cheers from international audiences.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Tribu Paghidaet for proudly representing our beloved city,” Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said in a statement.
He praised the performers for their energetic and captivating performance, showcasing the vibrant spirit and rich culture of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival on the international stage.
The performance not only highlighted the group's artistry and dedication but also celebrated Ilonggo creativity and excellence on a world stage. Treñas emphasized the importance of this milestone in promoting youth empowerment, cultural pride, and global recognition for local talents.
“The loud cheers and applause they received from the audience in Japan speak volumes of how our culture and traditions can resonate across borders,” Treñas said.
“This moment strengthens our resolve to continuously promote Ilonggo excellence and cultural pride around the world,” he added.
He also urged Ilonggos to keep celebrating and uplifting heritage and to work together in making Iloilo City a center for culture and the arts in Southern Philippines.
"Thank you, for raising the Iloilo City banner high in Osaka," Treñas said.
Tribu Paghidaet of Iloilo and Lumad Basakanon of Cebu, two of the Philippines' most celebrated festival icons, united during the Philippine National Day Parade at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
They proudly raised the Philippine flag and shared the beauty of their heritage with the world.
Both groups earned applause for their world-class artistry and embody the rhythm, devotion, and soul of the Filipino spirit, making the Philippines proud.
