POLICE Brigadier General Jack Wanky, current regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), has been reassigned to lead the Police Regional Office in Calabarzon effective June 19, 2025. Replacing him is Police Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), who will assume command of PRO 6.

“We have received an official order effective June 19, 2025, that our current regional director, Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, will be transferred to PRO Calabarzon,”  Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO 6 spokeperson said.

“Police Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones from NCRPO will be transferred here to PRO 6. There is no final date yet for the turnover ceremony, but preparations are already in place. He is from PNPA ’Patnubay’ Class 1995,” he added.

Prior to his appointment to PRO 6, Peñones served as deputy regional director for administration at the NCRPO. His reassignment marks a new leadership chapter for PRO 6, which oversees the PRO 6.

Wanky’s leadership saw intensified anti-criminality campaigns and strengthened coordination among units across Western Visayas. His successor, Peñones, is expected to sustain and build on these efforts. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
