THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) demonstrated its enhanced five-minute response system with simultaneous tests conducted in Iloilo City and key locations in Aklan, including Boracay Island and Kalibo, on Tuesday afternoon, July 29, 2025.

Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, PRO 6 director, led the demonstration to members of the Iloilo Police and Defense Press Corps (IPDPC) held at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

The drill included a live test of the 911 emergency response system in Iloilo City.

“We want to ensure that police are capable of responding to any emergency within five minutes, especially in areas with high tourist traffic like Boracay,” Ligan said.

The test evaluated the readiness and coordination of local police units in handling real-time calls and quickly mobilizing personnel to the scene in Iloilo City.

Malay Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Kalibo MPS participated in the simulation to assess situational response in both urban and tourism-centered areas.

The initiative supports the national directive to modernize emergency response protocols and aims to strengthen public safety and community trust in law enforcement agencies. (Leo Solinap)
