FILIPINOS will get the opportunity to personally express their condolences following the passing of Pope Francis.
This as the Apostolic Nunciature in the Philippines is set to open books of condolences on Tuesday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
"Books of condolence will be available for signing at the Apostolic Nunciature in Manila," said the CBCP News, the official news agency of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
"The public is invited to visit and express condolences or share memories of the late Pontiff," it added.
It can be recalled that Pope Francis visited the Philippines back in January 2015.
Pope Francis died last Monday at the age of 88 years old after suffering from stroke, followed by a coma and irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse.
His funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. (4 p.m. Philippines time) Saturday, April 26, in St. Peter’s Square, followed by his burial at the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
Three active Filipino Cardinals, namely Vatican's Dicastery for Evangelization Pro-Prefect Luis Antonio Tagle, Manila Archbishop Jose Advincula, and Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, are already preparing to attend the funeral of Pope Francis.
Tagle led the fourth recitation of the Rosary in memory of Pope Francis at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major on Thursday evening.
Advincula and David, meanwhile, both left the Philippines on Thursday to attend the funeral of Pope Francis. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
