MANILA – Typhoon Bising (international name Danas) is enhancing the southwest monsoon (habagat) which will bring rains Monday as it weakens and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Monday morning.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Bising's center was estimated at 405 km. north northwest of Itbayat, Batanes and moving northeast at 25 km. per hour.

It has maximum sustained winds of 130 km. per hour near the center and gusts of up to 180 km. per hour.

The southwest monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over Ilocos Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, and Romblon.

Bising re-entered the PAR at 11 p.m. Sunday and made landfall over Taiwan's southwestern portion at 11:50 p.m.

According to PAGASA's 24-hour sea condition outlook, moderate to rough seas are expected over the coastal waters of Batanes and the western and northern seaboards of Babuyan Islands and the western seaboard of Ilocos Nortee.

Small sea vessels, including all types of motor bancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions.

Due to the southwest monsoon, occasional rains are expected over Ilocos Region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and the rest of Central Luzon will get cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. (PNA)
