Calabarzon, Central Luzon top voter registration turnout

WITH more than 100,000 applicants each, Calabarzon and Central Luzon are the top regions with the highest number of voter registrants in the ongoing voter registration period in the country.

According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Calabarzon recorded the highest number of applicants as of August 6, with 154,987.

Central Luzon followed in second place with 130,767 registrants after six days.

The next three regions with high numbers of applicants are Bicol Region with 95,649; the National Capital Region with 95,373; and Central Visayas with 94,298.

On the other hand, the Cordillera Administrative Region recorded the lowest number of applicants, with only 22,247.

Also registering low turnout are Mimaropa with 35,662 and Caraga with 35,708.

Overall, a total of 1,204,144 individuals have registered nationwide during the period of August 1 to 6.
