NEARLY 24,000 individuals in three regions in the Visayas and Mindanao were affected by Tropical Storm Crising, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday, July 18, 2025.

In a situational report, the NDRRMC said a total of 7,501 families or 23,918 individuals in 56 barangays in Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Soccsksargen were affected by the effects of Crising.

Of these, 115 families, 38 in Western Visayas and 77 in Soccsksargen, were displaced and are now staying in evacuation centers.

The NDRRMC said over P1.2 million worth of food packs and non-food items were provided to the affected families.

It added that the agency also recorded three rain-induced landslides and 19 flooded areas in Central Visayas due to the weather system.

The disaster bureau said the effects of Crising also resulted in the suspension of seaport operations as well as classes in affected areas.

As of 11 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Crising had slightly intensified as it moved west-northwestward toward mainland Cagayan–Babuyan Island.

The weather bureau said that as of 10 a.m., Crising was spotted 195 kilometers (km) east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 75 km per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and a central pressure of 994 hectopascals (hPa).

July 18- Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Quezon, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, and Sarangani

Crising is expected to make landfall over mainland Cagayan or the Babuyan Islands on Friday afternoon or evening, then move west-northwest across extreme Northern Luzon before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility on July 19.
