
THE Department of Education (DepEd) denied Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a social media post claiming that the agency will implement a policy requiring Saturday classes for students from elementary to senior high school.
“Fake news ang kumakalat na social media post tungkol sa umano’y pagdaragdag ng Saturday classes sa elementary hanggang senior high school,” the DepEd said in a statement.

The agency reminded the public to remain cautious and vigilant against any form of misinformation.
“Para sa opisyal na mga anunsiyo at impormasyon tungkol sa basic education, bisitahin lamang ang official DepEd Philippines social media accounts,” it added.

Classes for School Year 2025–2026 began on June 16, 2025, with over 27 million enrollees from pre-school to senior high school.
