FWD Life Insurance (FWD Philippines) celebrates its inaugural batch of women leaders who graduated under the Forging Women’s Development in Leadership, Innovation, and Future Excellence (FWD LIFE) program.
The FWD LIFE is the first program of its kind in the country that is designed to support and advance women leaders in the insurance sector. It aims to empower participants to amplify their impact, embrace their authentic leadership styles, and drive innovation within their organizations.
This program comes at a crucial time when the importance of gender diversity in leadership is increasingly recognized globally. According to the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE), women hold a significant portion (40 percent in 2024) of Executive Leadership Team positions in publicly listed companies.
The report suggests an improvement in the representation of women in line or operational roles, which are critical for career advancement to top leadership positions.
FWD Philippines People and Culture chief officer, Vita Guillen, shared the importance of doing this initiative to lift women leaders. “As the insurer of the next generation, FWD believes in breaking barriers and creating opportunities for everyone. This program underscores the value of women having a seat at the table — not only for equity, but for the broader perspective and positive contributions they bring. We look forward to the continued achievements of our women leaders as they continue to celebrate living and help shape a more inclusive future for the local insurance industry.”
Developed in partnership with the prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM), the curriculum focused on cutting-edge leadership skills, building strategic networks, and fostering a balanced and purposeful approach to leadership.
AIM Program Director Marian Lleander said: “AIM’s partnership with FWD is a milestone as this is the first time that we have customized the program for a specific organization. Commissioning this program speaks of FWD’s sincere commitment to the growth and empowerment of their female leaders and we hope this will serve as a model for other companies.”
