

MANILA – Ten flights have been affected so far by bad weather caused by the southwest monsoon (habagat), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported on Tuesday.
Seven domestic and international flights were canceled:
Cebu Pacific Air
--5J 744: Manila - Hanoi
--5J 745: Hanoi - Manila
--5J 747: Hanoi – Manila
--5J 901: Manila - Caticlan
--5J 902: Caticlan - Manila
Philippine Airlines
--PR 593: Manila – Hanoi
--PR 594: Hanoi – Manila
Three commercial and private flights were diverted:
--CEB193: Cauayan - Manila (diverted to Clark)
--Air Asia APG608: Bacolod – Manila (diverted to Iloilo)
--MEDIC5157: Mactan – Manila (private, returned to Mactan)
CAAP urged passengers to regularly check flight status with their respective airlines.
The southwest monsoon continues to affect most areas in the country, with some areas forecast to experience intense rains.
The weather bureau said heavy monsoon rains will persist over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Laguna, and Quezon. (PNA)
