THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) urged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) bound for Korea to undergo Korean Language Training only in institutions accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).
In its Advisory 08-2025, the DMW said it is advisable for prospective OFWs to go for accredited training centers that offer Korean Language Proficiency courses.
"The DMW is committed to provide adequate support for prospective Filipino jobseekers in the Employment Permit System-Test on Proficiency in Korean (EPS-Topik) by providing accurate information regarding institutions that offer Korean Language Proficiency courses and are accredited by Tesda," said DMW on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
"As such, the Department provides the list of Tesda-accredited Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and Tesda Technology Institutions (TTIs) offering Korean Language Proficiency courses," it added.
The list is publicly accessible at http://bit/41KJ0K.
The department said it is issuing the advisory amid reports of illegally operating TVIs or TTIs offering such trainings.
"The DMW encourages the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious or suspected illegal recruitment activity or excessive collection of training fees by TVIs or TTIs to the DMW," said the DMW.
To note, the EPS is a government-to-government hiring program between the Philippines and Korea. (Anton Banal/SunStar Philippines)
