2 Pinoys killed in California car crash

MANILA -- Two Filipinos were killed in a car crash in Palmdale, California, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported Thursday.

In an update sent to the media, the agency, through Assistant Secretary Elmer Cato, has extended condolences to the families of the victims.

Consul General Adel Angelito Cruz said the two, both in their 60s, were killed after the vehicle they were in crashed into a construction truck on 14 Freeway near Palmdale Boulevard early Saturday morning.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles said it is coordinating with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office, which is expected to release the full details on the crash.

Cruz, for his part, assured that the Consulate General is ready to extend the necessary assistance to the families of the victims. (PNA)
