DOH: All hospitals fully functional, no lockdown amid Covid concerns

ALL hospitals of the Department of Health (DOH) are fully operational and are not on lockdown due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

This was the assurance made by the DOH amid circulating information that one of its hospitals is currently on lockdown because of a patient with Covid-19.

"No DOH hospital is currently implementing a lockdown and all DOH hospitals remain fully operational," it said.

"We advise the public against a circulating message claiming that a hospital is currently on lockdown," it added.

The DOH did not identify which hospital is rumored to be on a lockdown.

But in a separate advisory, the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) made a similar denial of it being on an "emergency lockdown" due to Covid-19.

"There is no truth to the text message brigade and rumor that East Avenue Medical Center is on emergency lockdown," said the EAMC.

"We are continuously providing healthcare services to the public at the Out Patient Department, Wards, and Emergency Room Department," it added.

In the bogus text message, the sender claimed that the EAMC is on a lockdown after a patient was found to have Covid-19. It asked the message recipient to forward the information, so others who were headed for the hospital will be warned. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
