DAYS before the holding of the simultaneous job fairs nationwide, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is advising jobseekers to get a preview of what awaits them.
In a televised public briefing, Labor Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez said they are encouraging those looking to participate in the job fairs to know ahead which jobs they can apply to.
"Before Sunday at the SMX Convention Center or in the other parts of the Philippines on May 1, the people may already visit our websites, where the specific venues and jobs offered are already posted," Benavidez said.
And come the day of the job fairs, the labor official renewed their call for jobseekers to be properly armed in applying for jobs with their resume or curriculum vitae, certificate of employment for those formerly employed, diploma, and transcript of records.
"We are reminding the public looking for jobs to bring their resumes, and be prepared to apply for jobs," said Benavidez.
A total of 73,779 job vacancies will be up for grabs when the DOLE holds simultaneous job fairs as part of the 121st celebration of Labor Day.
"The number of vacancies is expected to increase in the succeeding days," DOLE said.
Among the top participating industries are business process outsourcing, manufacturing, financial and insurance activities, manpower services, and sales and marketing.
The top vacancies, on the other hand, are for customer service representatives, production workers/operators, financial consultants, service crew, and sales agents or sales clerks.
