TWELVE formators of faith gained recognition on Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026, as Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula washed their feet at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros.

The Archdiocese of Manila announced that Advincula held the "Washing of the Feet" with the "Formators of the Word and Sacraments" at 5 p.m.

"These are people who help us learn about God and the important parts of our faith," said the Manila Archdiocese.

Tapped for the event were priest Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo, Sr. Leysis Navarro, Ma. Rosalina Flores, Jomer Viteno, Glaiza Maria Magna, and Nesie Dela Cruz. Also included were Isa Reyes, Arun Gogna, Jan Silan, Xavier Apostol, Noe Dora, and Angela Silan.

"The selection of these formators was connected to the recent Manila Archdiocesan Ecclesial Assembly (MAEA) that happened in February 2026, which reminded us how important it is to serve others and be humble in the Church," said the archdiocese.

The Washing of the Feet was a traditional part of the Mass on Maundy Thursday that commemorated the Last Supper of Jesus with His Disciples. The moment symbolized humility, service, and love for others. Anton Banal
