A FORMER detainee was shot dead in Purok 2, Barangay San Miguel, Cordova town on Mactan Island at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023.
The victim was identified as Glecerio Andales Untal, Jr., 42, married, a businessman and was previously imprisoned at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
Police Major Michael Gingoyon, chief of the Cordova Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that they are still trying to identify the man seen on CCTV entering Untal’s residential compound before a gunshot was heard.
The bloodied victim was later found by his relatives lying in the living room.
The victim's alleged prior involvement in illegal drug activities, his business dealings involving the purchase and selling of used motorcycles, and the charge for Violence Against Women and Children brought against him by his wife are now being looked into by the police in relation to the killing.
The police recovered an empty shell of .45 pistol from the crime scene. (GPL, TPT)
