AUTHORITIES seized more or less 275 kilograms of illegal drugs in a shipment that arrived at the Manila International Container Port, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo said Thursday, October 5, 2023.

Fajardo said based on the initial report, the Police Drug Enforcement Group received information over the weekend about the possible arrival of a big shipment of illegal drugs from Mexico.

“Inireport nila yan sa BOC at kanina nga ay ininspect itong shipment na ito at based sa x-ray ay may confirmation na may mga drugs doon at based sa initial na test ay nagconfirm na shabu ito but as to the quantity I am still waiting for the official report,” she said.

(They reported that to the BOC and earlier, this shipment was inspected and based on the x-ray, there was confirmation that there were drugs there and based on the initial test, it was confirmed that it was shabu but as to the quantity, I am still waiting for the official report.)

“Ang report na unang naibigay ay mga more or less mga nasa around 200 to 275 kilos at least ito pong mga shipment na ito but sa latest na aking information na nareceive, maaaring lumagpas pa ito doon sa unang report but hintayin natin yung official report,” she added.

(The report that was first given was more or less around 200 to 275 kilos but with the latest information that I have received, it may even exceed that in the first report but let's wait for the official report.)
