POLICE have neutralized the most wanted person in Tublay, Benguet during an operation in Antipolo City, Rizal on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Major Ronald Lumactod, Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) spokesperson, said Marlo Lacasti was killed when he engaged the police in a gunfight in Sitio Sapinit, Barangay San Juan in Antipolo.
Lacasti was tagged in the brutal killing and sexual assault of his employer in March 2013.
A warrant for his arrest for the crime of murder was issued by the Regional Trial Court in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Lumactod said AKG operatives, together with the Benguet and Antipolo police, served the arrest warrant on Lacasti when he allegedly pulled a gun.
Lumactod said Lacasti had been in hiding in Antipolo City and had joined criminal groups involved in gun-for-hire, robbery and kidnapping activities in Rizal province.
Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber 45 pistol loaded with live ammunition and one caliber 45 fired cartridges case. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
