OFW Jullebee Ranara's Killer Sentenced in Kuwait, Family Receives Support

A DAY after a Kuwaiti court convicted the killer of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jullebee Ranara, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) visited the family she left behind.

In a social media post, the DMW said Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac went to the Ranara family on Friday, September 15, 2023.

"Migrant Workers Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac met with members of the Ranara family a day after a Kuwaiti Juvenile Court sentenced Jullebee's teenage killer to a 15-year prison sentence for murder," said DMW.

Details of the visit, however, are not yet available as of press time.

On Thursday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that Ranara's killer has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for murder and one year for driving without a license.

The killer of the household service worker was the 17-year-old son of her employer in Kuwait.

It was back in January when the burnt body of Ranara was found in a desert in Kuwait.
