P47-M shabu recovered from lone suspect

POLICE arrested on Thursday, July 5, a drug suspect who yielded seven kilos of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth over P47.6 million.

Joshir Bernardo, 29, was arrested in a drug bust conducted before dawn by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Manila Police station 6 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) National Capital Region (NCR) in Barangay 779 Zone 57, San Andres Bukid, Manila.

Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, NCR Police Office director, said Bernardo initially sold a kilo of suspected illegal drugs worth P6.8 million to a poseur buyer.

Authorities later recovered from Bernardo’s vehicle six more kilos of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated street price of P40.8 million.

Eleazar said Bernardo was identified as one of the drug pushers connected to Loloy Hernandez, a drug suspect who is currently detained at the Taguig City Jail.

He said the Hernandez’s group is allegedly operating in the entire Metro Manila and Calabarzon.

The illegal drugs have been brought to the crime laboratory for proper disposition. (SunStar Philippines)
