POLL watchdog Legal Network for Truthful Elections (Lente) is asking the public to add their voices to the opposition to the postponement of the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

In a social media post, Lente asked the public, especially the youth voters, to express on their social media accounts their desire for the barangay and youth polls to push through.

"Dance to the tune of the campaign for the Barangay and SK elections in December 2022 to push through," said Lente.

"Dance to the tune of the TikTok account of Lente to strengthen our call," it added.

The poll watchdog said the public is urged to follow and record the TikTok video posted on the account of Lente.

They are then urged to post them on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, while using #NoToBSKE2022Postponement and #BSKE2022PushNaYarn.

The public is urged to tag Lente in the posts, particularly Lente Philippines on Facebook, @lente_ph on Twitter and Instagram, and lentephilippines on TikTok.

Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez, who is expected to assume as Speaker of the House in the next Congress, earlier said they are looking at proposals to postpone the barangay and SK elections set in December.

Romualdez said the polls postponement is expected to save funds that could be used for the country’s pandemic response. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
