Marcos accepts resignation of 3 more Cabinet officials

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation of three government officials amid the ongoing revamp in the administration.

In a press conference, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Lawyer Claire Castro said Marcos accepted the courtesy resignations of Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Chief Mark Llandro Mendoza, Presidential Adviser on Military and Police Affairs Roman Felix, and Philippine National Oil Company and Renewables Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Jay Arenas.

Castro said among the other officials who will keep their posts are the following:

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso

Land Bank of the Philippines President and CEO Lynette Ortiz

Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) President and CEO Michael De Jesus

National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Administrator Eduardo “Eddie” Guillen

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles

Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) President and CEO Emmanuel “Edwin” Mercado

In May, Marcos called on all his Cabinet members to render their courtesy resignation in a bid to “realign government with the people’s expectations.” (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
