PRESIDENT Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. reappointed Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro confirmed the reappointments on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

The Commission on Appointments previously deferred deliberation on Ruiz's appointment and bypassed Aguda's ad interim appointment. This was due to "lack of material time" as the commission adjourned sine die last week.

In a statement, Ruiz thanked Marcos for his continued trust.

“Having witnessed firsthand the President’s tireless efforts to improve the lives of the Filipino people, I draw inspiration from his leadership, marked by quiet determination and an unwavering commitment to public service. It is this same spirit that drives me to lead the PCO with professionalism, integrity, and purpose,” he said.

“Together, we will continue to be invaluable partners in the fight against Fake News and in empowering our fellow Filipinos through truthful, timely, and transparent communication,” he added.

Castro also confirmed the resignation of PCO Senior Undersecretary Analisa Puod. Puod cited "untenable condition" within the current PCO leadership. (TPM/SunStar Philippines)
