THE National Bureau of Investigation's Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) carried out multiple search warrants in Parañaque City, Manila, and Malabon City in May, in a continued effort to curb the spread of counterfeit products.

On May 6, 2025, NBI agents executed a search warrant at the AJS Online and/or Sarigayao Online Store in Paranaque City, resulting in the seizure of 1,083 counterfeit Oakley items valued at approximately P3.56 million.

On May 7, raids on several stores in Manila’s Binondo district and a warehouse in Malabon led to the confiscation of 1,024 counterfeit products bearing the Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent trademarks, with an estimated value of P51.65 million.

The operations were carried out based on complaints filed by Quisumbing Torres Attorneys at Law for Oakley, and Lee Bumgarner Inc. on behalf of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, under violations of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, specifically Trademark Infringement and Unfair Competition.

Director Jaime Santiago commended the NBI-IPRD for its successful enforcement and urged the public to avoid supporting counterfeit products to protect intellectual property rights and boost the nation’s economy. (JGS/SunStar Philippines)
